We need volunteers to help with fundraising, office projects, shelter maintenance and community education and outreach. 

Current Volunteer Openings are listed below: 

Data Entry at our Administrative Office in Portsmouth
Education & Outreach at all locations
Receptionist at the Family Justic Center in Rochester
Administrative Support at our Administrative Office in Portsmouth
Material Donations Coordinator at our Administrative Office in Portsmouth

Administrative volunteers in the Portsmouth Office are scheduled based on volunteer’s schedule and office hours. Other volunteers (donations, fundraising, special events, etc…) will be based on organizational needs.

We also offer internships of at least two semesters for 16 hours per week.  If you are interested in internship opportunities at A Safe Place you are required to attend the training sessions.  Training sessions are held once each year. They consist of 30 hours of interactive educational training, and a minimum of 16 hours of supervised on-the-job training.   After training we will discuss your placement and sign you up for a shift based on your interests.  At this time we are not able to offer a licensed mental health therapist for supervision.
